Rooms are outdated, WiFi is pretty well unaccessible, service is friendly.
The stay was wonderful. The lake and forest scenery were great. The trails appeared maintained. There were boats available for the lakes. The Villas where we stayed were large, quiet, and comfortable. We attended a social event while here and the staff was accommodating and helpful. The only complaints are: There was pretty much no cell phone service anywhere in the park and no wifi provided in the buildings where we stayed; which would be fine but gps will only navigate you to the entrance of the park and the paper maps we had aren't the most detailed (there wasn't one single map that noted all the roads, trails, and landmarks/destinations). Members of out party got lost several times within the park. The rooms could stand to be updated and fixed up a bit. The worst scenario we encountered was being locked in the lower level room. The doorknob was not locked, but once closed it could not be opened again from the inside. We had to walk out the downstairs patio door and up and around to the front door and knock for the other members of our group to let us in. Considering there is no cell phone reception and no room phone, we were lucky there was an exterior door down there and that people were upstairs to let us back in so we avoided deconstructing the doorknob. Overall, these were very minor setbacks and now that we know what to expect, the next trip will be easier to manage. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We're already discussing a return trip.
There is a great restaurant here. The buffet is so wonderful especially around the holidays. It is close to the lake and is so nice inside. Would be a great place to have a family reunion or for business purposes. Maybe you just want a quite place to rest in the beautiful Natchez Trace Park.
Beautiful Location right on the lake. The lodge has a charming vintage feel inside. The customer service was good. We had to buffet and the food wasn't necessarily spectacular but it was good. Large variety of sides. I'm happy with what we had for the price we paid. Even better that multiple desserts were included.
Attended my nephew's birthday party which was held in the Natchez room in the main Lodge. It was a fantastic setting for a child's birthday party. The room was spacious with lots of natural light. The staff were very friendly and professional. The main Lodge is located within walking distance of the villas were people from out of town were staying plus there's a great view of the lake.
