Inn, camping, cabins, fishing, hiking, swimming, paddle boat rentals, restaurant, playground areas, clean restrooms, picnic areas, park store

A little bit of everything for hikers bicyclists and horses. Nice playgrounds for little kids too. Great areas for picnicking and group meetings. Very nice campground.

We went on Cub Creek Lake Trail. First time there. Pretty trail! The trail isn't maintained very well though. Had to crawl over some trees. Some trees need repainted. The boards are a mess or almost completely covered in some sections. We followed the orange tree markings but didn't see any markings to go over the bridge to complete the loop. Even with the extra mile or so of detour over asphalt, we still finished within three hours.

Loved this place. Nice level sites work full hookups. Many lake side and water view. Lodge had a great buffet of you had a long trip or a fun day and too tired to cook.

Always enjoy bringing my family here. Kids love swimming at Cub Lake. Fishing is good. Lots of things to do.

This is an incredible location. We stayed at Pin Oak RV Park in October. Specifically, we stayed at camp number 28 and 72. 28 was right at the lakes edge. I can imagine that during the summer this is a very hard spot to get. There are a bunch of persimmon trees that are only ripe at this time of the year right next to the site. In the morning, the smokey clouds rise above the lake and gently blow in circles while others rise through the air. At night you can hear owls in the distance. The second night we stayed in slot 72. What is cool about this site is there is a trail that leads through the woods to the lake. It is very private and perfect for relaxing or fishing. Every slip had electrical, water, and a personal dump station. Sorry, no WiFi, but who needs it out there? You can make reservations on line the day before you get there or call the forest office. Recommend making a reservation early. We got lucky because of the off season. One other thing, you can swim in the lake. The water is clear and if you need to, you can wash clothes and take a shower in the comfort stations.
